What we do

Concrete pool renovation is what we do best

Most of our work is giving older concrete pools a second life. We also build new pools — in concrete only. No vinyl liner pools, no fiberglass shells.

Renovation & restoration

Our core work — bring a tired concrete pool back to smooth, watertight, modern condition without replacing the whole pool.

  • Resurfacing & replastering
  • Tile, coping & concrete deck repair
  • Crack repair, step, light & skimmer retrofits

New concrete pool construction

When we build new, we build concrete only — custom shapes and finishes designed around your lot, your budget and how your family actually swims.

  • Custom concrete shells & spas
  • Tanning ledges & water features
  • Decking, coping & finishing

Weekly maintenance

Care for concrete pools — show up to clear, balanced water every week of the season. We clean, test and adjust — you just swim.

  • Skimming, vacuuming & brushing
  • Water testing & chemical balancing
  • Equipment checks on every visit

Opening & closing

The two most important days of a Canadian concrete pool's year, done properly — no cracked pipes come spring.

  • Spring opening & start-up balancing
  • Fall winterization & line blowing
  • Safety cover install & removal

Equipment & upgrades

Repairs and modern upgrades that make a renovated pool quieter, warmer and cheaper to run.

  • Pumps, filters & heaters
  • Salt systems & automation
  • Energy-efficient variable-speed retrofits

Leak detection & inspection

Losing water? Buying a home with a concrete pool? We find the problem and tell you plainly what it takes to fix.

  • Pressure testing & dye testing
  • Concrete shell & surface assessment
  • Written report with renovation options
Built around the Canadian calendar

A concrete pool in Canada lives four different lives a year

Short summers and hard winters mean timing matters — especially for older concrete. Our season care follows the rhythm your pool actually lives by:

Apr – May

Spring opening

Cover off, equipment reconnected, water balanced and the first clean done — ready for the first warm weekend.

Jun – Aug

Swim season

Weekly care keeps water crystal through heat waves, parties and August algae pressure.

Sep – Oct

Fall closing

Lines blown out, water level set, chemicals winter-balanced and the safety cover secured before the first freeze.

Nov – Mar

Winter watch

Off-season checks on covers and water levels, plus early booking so your opening date is locked in before the spring rush.

How we work

From tired concrete to first swim again

Renovations follow a clear four-step path. New concrete builds use the same steps, starting from design instead of assessment.

01

Assessment & inspection

We inspect the concrete shell, surface, tile, coping, plumbing and equipment, and tell you honestly what needs repair, what can stay, and what is worth upgrading.

02

Scope & written quote

A written, itemized quote — no vague allowances. You see resurfacing, repairs and upgrades priced separately, so you can decide what happens now and what can wait.

03

Renovation work

Drain, strip and repair the shell, resurface, re-tile and re-cope, plus any plumbing or equipment work in the scope — sequenced tightly so the yard isn't a site a day longer than needed.

04

Refill, balance & handover

We refill, balance the water, walk you through the renewed pool and equipment, and — if you'd like — roll straight into a weekly care plan.

The Trident kit

Crew gear & client gifts

One rule runs through all of it: deep navy cloth, a single silver mark, embroidery where it counts. This is the kit our crews wear on site — plus the pieces worth handing to clients.

Crew tee

Start here

The everyday on-site uniform — a client can spot the crew from across the yard.

Front: small embroidered mark, left chest · Back: large silver print

Polo

Client meetings

For walkthroughs, measurements and quote visits — reads a level above the tee.

Front: embroidered chest mark only · Back: clean, no print

Hoodie

Fall drop

Spring openings and fall closings start cold — heavyweight fleece for the shoulder seasons.

Front: chest embroidery · Sleeve: wave mark

Cap

Crew

Sun protection that still reads as uniform. The mark on its own — text never survives a cap.

Front: trident icon embroidered, centre · Text: none

TRIDENTPOOLS & SPA

Steel bottle

Our addition

One we'd add to the kit: a double-wall bottle for the truck cab and the pool deck. The etched mark won't peel in chlorine air.

Body: brushed steel · Mark: laser-etched

TRIDENTPOOLS & SPA

Microfibre towel

Client gift

The one gift clients actually use — left behind at handover, it lives by their own pool all season.

Colour: navy on white · Detail: woven wave band

One-colour artwork rule

The metallic silver gradient is a screen finish — it won't embroider or print. On cloth and steel the mark runs as one flat silver, and the same artwork file works across tees, caps and the truck.

Before production

Final artwork spells the name out in full — TRIDENT POOLS & SPA — on every item, front and back. No shortened variants.

Questions

Before you dive in

How long does a concrete pool renovation take?

It depends on scope. A resurface with tile and coping work is typically a few weeks of active work; structural crack repair, plumbing replacement or a full reconfiguration takes longer. After the assessment we'll give you a realistic schedule in writing before we start.

Do you work on vinyl or fiberglass pools?

No — we work only with concrete pools. Renovation is our specialty, and new builds are concrete only. That focus is deliberate: concrete needs different repair, resurfacing and structural skills than liner or fiberglass pools, and it's the work we know best.

When should I book opening and closing?

Earlier than you think — spring opening slots fill fast once the first warm week hits. A good rule: book your closing at the end of summer and your opening before the snow melts, and you'll never be stuck in the rush.

Do you renovate pools you didn't build?

Yes — most of our renovation, repair and maintenance work is on concrete pools built by others. Start with an inspection visit and we'll give you a straight assessment of the pool's condition.

Can a heater really extend the Canadian swim season?

It can add weeks on both ends — a well-sized heater (or heat pump) means comfortable swimming from May into late September in many regions, instead of just the warmest part of summer. Many renovations are the right moment to add or upgrade one.
